BEST, or Board of European Students of Technology, is a student organization, and BEST Gothenburg is one of the 96 local groups in Europe.
BEST strives to help European students of technology to become more internationally minded, by reaching a better understanding of European cultures and developing capacities to work on an international basis. Therefore BEST creates opportunities for the students to meet and learn from one another through our academic and non-academic events.
BEST Gothenburg organizes two large events every year; a summer course and an engineering competition called EBEC. The summer course is usually in June after the academic year ended, where we invite 22 students from the other universities in Europe with a BEST group. The students attend classes at Chalmers with a specific technology theme. The last course in Gothenburg, in June 2018, was about Graphene Technology. All the BEST groups in Europe host a course of technology every year, and everyone who studies technology in a university with a BEST group can apply.
The other big event we organize is EBEC. It is an engineering competition which usually is organized in collaboration with a company. The winning teams of the two categories (Case Study and Team Design) get to compete against the winning teams of the Nordic universities, and the winner there will go to the European final of EBEC.
